FEED
We
provide several quality feeds to choose from. Each horses feed program is tailored to
each horses individual needs.
We provide
quality Coastal Bermuda. Timothy hay is available at an extra cost. In the winter,
hay is provided in pastures. We encourage the owners to help
monitor their horses feed requirements because we have found each
owner has their preference to their horses ideal weight. FarrierThe farm farriers are Bill Mathis and Sean Gaul who come highly recommended. They are members of the farrier’s Association and keeps up to date on different techniques by attending several clinics a year. If you have a preference for a different farrier you are encouraged to make your own arrangements. Horses can be shod every 5 or 6 weeks. Bill Mathis: 885-3802 Sean Gaul 246-3272 SecurityThere is an ADT System with smoke alarm equipped in the barn. The owners live on the premises. VeterinariansThe local vets are Dr. Keith Stafford and Creek Run Veterinary Clinic. They are both very professional, caring and knowledgeable veteranarians. The horses are wormed every 6-8 weeks if not on Strongid C2X. The horses are all given Flu/Rhino every 3-4 months and EE/WEE/Tet in spring and fall. Horses are given West Nile and Strangles 1x a year. Most horses at the farm get their coggins and their rabies done the first of the year. Dr. Stafford: 303-1847, Dr. Reid: 261-6184
